2 Alarm Barn Fire on Rench Road

Chief Hottinger of Funkstown Co. 10 arrived on scene around 9:20 p.m. and assumed Rench Road Command. Crews arrived to find a barn fully loaded with hay and equipment engulfed in flames. After an initial size up of the situation, command requested the second-alarm assignment. Command also requested brush units to the incident to help keep the fire contained to the barn and prevent it from spreading into the surrounding fields.
